how far you've come
tiny story shift | Day #69 - How to Be Still
here is your gentle place to be inside this day. a reminder that you may be covering more ground than you think.
this is the sixty-ninth (or so) entry in our current series, How to Be Still.
It can feel good to always be looking ahead. To prime ourselves by anticipating the next move, and lining up multiple options for what we’ll do just in case.
Preparation is key and deeply caring. But always looking ahead at the expense of appreciating what we’ve come through can be depleting.
Maybe, sometimes we’re afraid that valuing how far we’ve come will lessen our motivation, or take away our edge. Perhaps we’re worried that we’ll lose some of our drive if we slow down and reflect on the path we’ve trod.
But what if the opposite is true? What if slowing down and taking stock of what we’ve come through fuels our:
Hope;
Joy;
Release;
Gratefulness;
Deepening sense of awareness; and
Ability to see humans around us as we move through the world?
So, lovely human, how far have you come? And what have you learned + gathered that is good and precious along the way?
