here’s the first entry in a new series I’m working on. This is for you if you’ve been feeling a bit pummeled and tossed around. I'm calling this series How to Be Still. Let me know if it resonates with you. Your thoughts and questions will help me decide what to write about next.
There are seasons of life where the noise feels particularly loud. Where the cacophony feels as though it is endlessly escalating. In recent weeks, I’ve found myself glued to screens, far more than I care to admit. The noise can grow so loud, that it begins to feel as if it is occupying our inner being. Draining our creativity, pulling us away from clarity, and inserting uncertainty where there is a desperate need grounded and connected.
So much is happening. And it is necessary to pay attention.
But in the most humbling of ways I’ve been reminded in recent days that paying attention isn’t the same as becoming consumed by distraction.
The truth is, these past few years haven’t been an easy patch of life for many of us. If you’re willing, I’d like to share some of the lessons I’m (still) learning about how to cultivate stillness in my life and work - even when there are 50 million things going on (and the noise feels incredibly loud). Would that be helpful to you at this moment?
If so, then I hope you’ll hit subscribe and tune in over the next 30 days. I’ll try to write you a tiny story shift each day. Something small and digestible - a short story from my life, a lesson I’m learning, a moment of joy, a challenge, a discovery, some insight that’s come to find me, or perhaps an unexpected conversation - that helps you think a bit more clearly and take one small step towards feeling more grounded and less distracted.
Are you in need of a bit of space to slow down + breathe deep?
Me too.
p.s. for my paid subscribers, I’ll do my best to get (back) into rhythm. Thank you for your patience & kindness. I’ve missed our time together, and think of you each day.
